You might be surprised to know, plant-based food are some of the best sources for protein. Many of us tend to think that without eating meat we are somehow depriving ourselves of essential nutrients we need for our body to thrive. The only problem with this notion is… well… it’s not entirely true.

Following a few Instagram accounts that are fitness and health oriented is one great way I find helps me get the itch to get out and get active. Apart from my own account on Instagram @tarahhaven (hola!), some other and even better accounts to follow are AJ Odudu, TaraLondon, and Rawvana. They are not only colorful, full of vibrancy and excitement, but will also inspire you to be healthy and vibrant yourself.
While I am now learning to care for myself again I’m also realizing how exhilarating it can be for your overall esteem. Mind you, it isn’t lasting.
The best way to let an emotion go is to accept it. If we keep what we’re feeling bottled up or try to deny it, even if that emotion is not pleasurable, it will only linger on (and I’ve learned this first hand.) Therefore, if you need or want to cry, cry and do it freely. Just know that by doing so you are practicing self-care and healing more efficiently.
